Meet Our Team
Dr Jillian Lawrence
Lead Vet

Dr Jillian graduated from the University of Sydney in 2011. She worked in mixed practice with all creatures great and small for many years before joining the team at Oxley Highway Vets in 2019.

Dr Jillian is passionate about providing a high standard of veterinary care to our regional area. Jillian enjoys all aspects of small animal practice and has a strong interest in medicine, dentistry, and anaesthesia.

Jillian enjoys the coastal lifestyle that Port Macquarie has to offer. When not at work, she is kept busy by her active dog, Sasha, playing netball, gardening, and exploring our many beautiful beaches.

Dr Bryce Philpott

Dr Bryce joined the Oxley Highway team in May 2020. He graduated in 2017 and has a passion for all types of Surgery and Radiology. He is also has a special interest in our feathered friends and all Australian wildlife.

Bryce loves to play hockey in his spare time and trains for IronMan events. He enjoys keeping active and leading a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Bryce is also kept busy at home with his two chickens, Moira and Alexis, his two cats, Bubbles and Squeak, and his Australian Shepherd, Rorie.

Dr Joyce Wong
Vet

Dr Joyce joined the Oxley Highway family in January 2021. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Joyce spent much of her time volunteering in Hong Kong Dog Rescue and other animal rescue groups before leaving for New Zealand where she pursued her Veterinary Studies. From New Zealand, Joyce flew across the pond to settle in Australia where she now calls Port Macquarie home.

Dr Joyce has a special interest in small animal acupuncture because it brings further treatment options to patients. In addition, Joyce is currently working towards her certificate for Food Therapy for animals.

In Joyce’s spare time she loves to play board games, do gardening, walk the beaches of Port Macquarie and hang out with her two lovable cats, Olive and Mui Mui ("little sister" in Cantonese).

Kate
Practice Manager

Kate is our Receptionist and Practice Manager and joined the team in 2019. Kate spent nine years managing businesses in both the hospitality and education industries in Cairns and Sydney before moving to Port Macquarie.

Kate holds a Diploma of Business Administration and has a passion for providing exceptional service to all of our clients. Her favourite part of the day is handing out pats and cuddles to all of our furry visitors!

Kate is kept busy with her young family which includes a very stubborn and cheeky Eclectus Parrot!

Tammy
Lead Vet Nurse

Tammy is our Lead Vet Nurse here at Oxley Highway Vets and has been nursing for 13 years, also spending time in Emergency Animal Centres in Canberra. She has worked at Oxley Highway Vets since 2013 and runs our well-oiled nursing team.

Tammy spends her spare time with her beautiful family including her son, William, her Tonkinese cat, Lulu and her rescue cat, Odin. Tammy has also been a carer with Port Macquarie Animal Welfare and is our biggest advocate for the RSPCA, leading their annual cupcake fundraiser here at the clinic.

When she isn’t busy chasing William around, Tammy enjoys scuba diving, baking and going to the gym.

Mikayla
Vet Nurse

Meet Mikayla. Mikayla is one of our wonderful Vet Nurses who joined our team in February 2020. Her interests within the clinic are surgical nursing and dental procedures.

Mikayla’s vision is to one day be a Veterinarian and plans on studying Vet Science in the next few years.

In Mikayla’s spare time she loves to hang out with her German Shepherd, Lily, and ride her thoroughbred horse, Remi. Her other interests include 4WDriving, camping, netball and making horse halters and earrings.

Natalie
Vet Nurse

Natalie joined the Oxley Highway Vets team in September 2017 and is a Certified Level IV Veterinary Nurse. Natalie’s interests in the clinic are radiography, assisting in dental procedures and nursing sick hospital patients.

When she is not at work she can be found in the ocean where she feels most at home. Swimming, snorkelling, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding are just a few of the things Natalie loves to do. She enjoys spending time amongst marine life and when on land can’t get enough of dogs!

Her other interests include her tropical fish tank, golf, Mexican food, watching action films and exploring North America.

Ebony
Vet Nurse

Ebony is one of our Qualified Vet Nurses here at Oxley Highway who graduated in 2017. Ebony’s favourite aspect of clinic life is nursing sick hospital patients and handing out plenty of cuddles. She also loves all animals from the reptile world!

When Ebony is not at work or looking after her gorgeous young son, she can be found at the dog beach with her Kelpie X, Missy, or giving her Pigmy Bearded Dragon, Khaleesi, lots of back scratches.

Ebony’s other interests include horse riding, dining out, cocktail-making, fishing and doing the coastal walk.

Shannon
Vet Nurse

Shannon joined the Oxley Highway team in March 2021 as a Vet Nurse. Shannon’s favourite aspects of clinic life are nursing hospital patients, discussing which flea/tick treatments are best for your pet and surgical nursing.

At home, Shannon has her two “fluff” babies, Muffin and Yayme, which are mini lop rabbits. Shannon also has a love for giant dog breeds.

In her spare time she is an avid gamer and also enjoys camping and 4WDriving - she also plans to travel around Australia in the next few years.

Maddi
Vet Nurse

Maddi is a qualified Vet Nurse who joined the Oxley Highway team in February 2021. Her interests in-clinic are nursing sick hospital patients, and her favourite part of the job is seeing them return home to their families. Maddi is also a huge advocate for all wildlife, especially the feathered kind.

A well-seasoned traveller, who has spent time in India where she volunteered with humanitarian charities, Maddi is also a belly dancer and yoga enthusiast!

Maddi is kept busy at home with her lovable dogs, Gus, Max, Bella, Daisy, Coco and Toby and cat Sammy as well as horses Eve, Bree and Astro.
